A brief annotation Armi Ratia (1912–1979) was a charismatic woman, whose ingenious instinct led her to success. She founded the textile company Marimekko in 1951. Brightly coloured flower patterns and stripy shirts have made the company popular around the world. Marimekko became the pioneer for international design, as Marimekko clothes combined the cultural and the artistic values of the society. The coin represents the beauty, inspiration and originality of all fashion accessories and objects. The coin immortalizes the famous Unikko print, the hallmark of the unique company, to which Ratia dedicated her life.
