The Western Wall, the sole remnant of the Second Holy Temple in Jerusalem, which was destroyed in 70 CE by the Romans. Some 8 million people from all over the world, including Kings and Presidents, come to visit the Western Wall each year. Many leave notes with prayers within the crevices of the wall. Around the upper border, the word "Jerusalem" in English, Hebrew and Arabic.
A brief annotation The Western Wall was added to the Holy Temple in Jerusalem by builders of Herod the Great. The enormous stones of the wall were amazingly brought and laid down without use of cement. Growing out between the stones are caper plants. The Divine Presence is said never to leave this place and every visitor to the Wall experiences a very special sense of holiness and awe.
