Description of obverse and reverse | The main subject of the front side of the coin are the silhouettes of famous architectural and cultural monuments, such as the Mir Castle Complex (Belarus), the Novodevichy Convent (Russia), Mausoleum of Kozha Akhmet-Yasaui (Kazakhstan), the inner fortress Ichan-Kala (Uzbekistan), Khujand fortress (Tajikistan ), an architectural complex of Uzgen (Kyrgyzstan) and the image of Chinese pagodas. On the foreground of the map of Eurasia the stylized Great Silk Road is indicated made by a thin line of gold 999. Also on the obverse there are inscription "The Great Silk Road", the emblem of the Eurasian Economic Community, alloy and weight of the metal and nominal value of the coin. Reverse of the coin depicts the story of a caravan going between the mountains and its reflection from the mirror surface of a mountain lake. |
A brief annotation | The coin was issued within the framework of the International Programme on production and sale of collection coins from precious metals, the EurAsEC countries approved in 2007. The Great Silk Road, one of the most significant achievements in the history of world civilization. Widespread network of caravan ways crossed Europe and Asia from the Mediterranean to China, and served not only the development of trade between countries, but also contributed over the centuries the exchange of spiritual and cultural links between the peoples of East and West. |
