Description of obverse and reverse | In the centre of the obverse there is the state emblem on a shield. The inscriptions «LIETUVA» (Lithuania) and «2011» are arranged in a semi-circle. The inscription «50 LITŲ» (50 litas) is placed below the symbolic sails. The reverse of the coin illustrates a branch of Olympic sports – sailing sports. The inscription «LONDONAS (London) 2012» is arranged in a semi-circle. The edge of the coin bears the inscription «VĖJO» (Wind we need) and stylized sails. |
A brief annotation | Yachting is one of the most interesting and complex branches of water sports. It is included into the programme of the Olympic Games. The coin is dedicated to the achievements of yachtsmen and yachtswomen of Lithuania in international regattas. |
