A brief annotation | Jean-Antoine Houdon (1741-1828) a French sculptor, a master of psychological portrait. The achievements in French sculpture of the 18th century are undoubtedly connected with the genre of portrait, one of the best masters of which was Jean Houdon. He managed to create excellent and authentic portraits of his famous contemporaries through which we can understand the spiritual image of the Enlightenment - the era of such great thinkers, writers, scientists as Voltaire, Rousseau, Diderot and others. |
