Description of obverse and reverse The coin is devoted to the work of the same name by world-known Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov. Obverse: In the foreground there is a figure of an old man leading a horse – an ambler called Gulsary. It seems that it was quite recently when he was breaking in the horse. However twenty years have passed since then and now an old man is leading a dying horse. In the background there is a running herd of horses as a token of past youth, flashed life. At the bottom there is a stylized image of an open book, coin denomination, weight, metal and alloy. Reverse: There is the facsimile of Chingiz Aitmatov in the center and the emblem of the Kyrgyz Republic above it. There is also circular inscription "Work by Chingiz Aitmatov" in Kyrgyz and Russian on the top and year of issue, 2009, at the bottom.
