Reverse: this coin is the new Angel design from the Isle of Man, only the 3rd new design in 25 years of its existence. Classic image of Archangel Michael Slaying the dragon. Michael is holding a shield bearing St. George’s Cross in one hand and a spear in the other hand which has struck the dragon through the neck. Some of the features from the very first angel coin are included in this design like Michael’s feathered wings and the Celtic band around the border. The text at the bottom reads “Au. 999.9 1 OUNCE ANGEL”. The Bullion “U” Mark appears underneath the dragon’s wing. |
