A brief annotation The history of the first Russian savings banks is associated with the activity of foundling hospitals (orphanages). They were sustained on both the donations of individuals and from special state taxes. In 1772 the personal secretary of the Empress Catherine II, Mr. Betsky, established prototypes of the first credit institutions at foundling hospitals – a loan, a safe and a widow treasury, based on generous donations. A part of the interest received from the issuance of loans went to the maintaining of foundling hospitals. On October 30, 1841, by decree of Nicholas I a Charter of savings banks was approved. The first savings bank was opened on March 1, 1842, in a building of the guardian council of the St. Petersburg foundling hospital. Soon the same savings fund was opened in Moscow in the building of the guardian council of the Moscow foundling hospital on Solyanka Street. In 1850 savings banks were opened in Pskov and Novgorod. In 1862 savings banks were transferred to execution of the Ministry of Finance.

Очень понравился реверс. Сюжетная линия передает преемственность - от бумажной сбер. книжки к электронной банковской карте.
