His call for resistance is broadcasted on the day after Marshall Petain had pronounced armistice. The dates 1959-1969 sign the duration of his mandate as President of the Republic, they are at the bottom on the reverse.
A brief annotation Born in 1890, Charles de Gaulle chose a military career. During First World War, he was injured three times, was taken prisoner and held in captivity in Germany. Between the two wars, he thought about reforming the army. He was named Colonel in 1937 and General in 1940. Named President of the council, Marshal Pétain announced the armistice in a speech on the 17th of June 1940. The day after, Charles de Gaulle pronounced a speech, broadcasted on the BBC from London, calling for resistance. He founded a resistance organization called the «France Libre». In 1944, General de Gaulle became President of the interim government of the French Republic.

Интересно смотрится, но по мне это больше на жетон тянет
Если не ошибаюсь это продолжении серии монет ,  интерес вызывает не изображение а способ чеканки - Золотая монета произвольной чеканки :)
