Description of obverse and reverse The first issue presents the “Pink Lady”, central motif of a world-famous bowl made in the 15th century. She finds her new place in a ring of 2 oz. pure silver. The ring shows the architectural details of the Doge´s palace in Venice.
A brief annotation The more than 1.000 years old history can still be found on this small venetian island. Traditional techniques of the glassblower´s art are still used to create incomparable unique pieces of artwork. We are proud to present the coin-series named “The Art of Glass”, the perfect combination of centuries-old handcrafting with modern coin minting techniques. “The Art of Glass” is the only coin featuring a glass-inlay that is completely hand-crafted directly in Murano! This plate is a prime example of classic Murano art from the 15th century. The purple glass is decorated in fusible enamels with a female figure shown in profile, enclosed by an outer band of vine shoots and birds.
