Description of obverse and reverse The concept of signing up to peace and, in turn, shaping the world, in an eye-catching manner on the Treaty of Utrecht Five euro coin. On the front, he has drawn 35 feather quills as a reference to the 35 participating delegations. The quills, positioned to form an ornamental wreath, are effectively drawing the portrait of Queen Beatrix. The design is the same on the back but the pens are drawing a world globe with Utrecht’s coat of arms in the centre. The images have been created by drawing 35 lines from the feather quills using a self-written computer script.
A brief annotation Three centuries ago, on 11 April 1713, the Treaty of Utrecht was signed in the city that bears the same name. The peace treaties brought an end to the long series of wars during the War of the Spanish Succession and Queen Anne’s War. These significant events are to be celebrated in 2013 with a number of commemorative festivities in the city and province of Utrecht. The signing of the Treaty of Utrecht in the city’s town hall brought an end to two centuries of religious disputes and bloody wars and the loss of enormous numbers of civilian lives. The treaty was a turning point in world history. For the first time, peace had been achieved around the negotiating table rather than on the battlefield. A year and a half of negotiations took place before the diplomats from around Europe agreed to sign. This heralded a period of celebrations in the cathedral city which, in turn, created substantial economic impetus in the city and region of Utrecht. Six Silver coins with the 6 most important participating countries of this Treaty. The colours at the coins are based on the flags and coat of arms.

Аверс монеты дополняет рисунок реверса, получается  композиция объединения в одно целое.Мне нравиться.
