Description of obverse and reverse | The obverse shows motives of a gold florin of Louis the Great /1342-1382/: a lozenge shaped shield within a hexafoil, decorated with Anjou-lilies. The reverse depicts a coin design based on the original gold coin depicting the Hungarian King Ladislaus holding in his right hand his main attribute, a battle-axe. |
A brief annotation | The coin is second part of the collector series «Gold Florins of Medieval Hungary». The series commemorates the famous golden forints of that age, when Hungarian gold coins were very popular even beyond Hungary’s borders. |
