The Treasures of the World – Europe coin incorporates a circular transparent locket containing loose garnets. On the reverse of the coin, the locket is surrounded with a design representing a European Alpine landscape, featuring a chalet, snow-capped mountains and Milk Vetch leaves. The design also incorporates the inscriptions «TREASURES OF THE WORLD» and «GARNET» and The Perth Mint’s «P» mintmark. |
A brief annotation | The annual Treasures of the World coin series was created to showcase the abundance of natural riches found on the Earth’s various continents. With the use of the locket concept, specimens of each treasure are able to be encapsulated in a precious metal collector coin. Significant deposits of garnet can be found in Europe, with the gemstone’s sparkling qualities making it as popular today as it has been throughout history. |

Интересная серия монет. Изюминкой в данной монете является конечно же наличие образцов граната.
