Description of obverse and reverse
The obverse: on the mirror field of the disc the relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, over it along the rim the semicircular inscription "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), framed on both sides by doubled rhombuses, below under the coat of arms: to the left indications of the precious metal and its fineness, to the right the fine metal content and the mint trade mark, at the bottom in the centre in three lines the inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin "2 РУБЛЯ" (2 RUBLES), the year of issue "2018 г." (2018). 

The reverse: on the mirror field of the disc the relief portrait of Maxim Gorky, below him the stylized image of the Stormy Petrel, at the bottom on the left in two lines the years "1868-1936", on the right the facsimile signature of the writer.
A brief annotation
Maxim Gorky (born Alexei Maximovich Peshkov, 1868-1936) was a writer, novelist and playwright. He was the most published Soviet writer in the USSR. Gorky enjoyed great lifetime success at home and abroad. He was a five-time nominee for the Nobel Prize. The most famous books by Gorky include the plays The Smug Citizen (1901) and The Lower Depth (1902), the novels Mother (1906) and The Life of Klim Samgin (1925-1936), and the poem The Song of the Stormy Petrel.
