Description of obverse and reverse
Obverse: at the top, on the right, the image of the Eagle established as the state emblem of the Republic of Poland. To the left of the Eagle, stylized piano keys. Below the keys and the Eagle, from the bottom left upwards, diagonally, the inscription: “RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 2014”. On the right, at the bottom, the inscription: “10 ZŁ”. In the background, diagonally, separate surfaces forming irregular stripes. Reverse: in the centre, a stylized portrait of Grzegorz Ciechowski. On the left, from the top downwards, the semicircular inscription: “HISTORIA POLSKIEJ MUZYKI ROZRYWKOWEJ” (History of Polish Popular Music). A brief annotation
Grzegorz Ciechowski (29 August 1957–22 December 2001) – the most outstanding poet of the Polish rock music, composer, music producer, musician, leader and frontman of Republika rock band. He performed solo as Obywatel G.C. and Grzegorz z Ciechowa. He started as a poet, but turned to music in search for a stronger form of communication for his literary work. He was the precursor of the comeback of folk music. Grzegorz Ciechowski died suddenly on 22 December 2001 after a long and complicated heart surgery.
