Description of obverse and reverse
The portrait of the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS features on the obverse of the coin.
A remarkable and inventive reverse design has been specifically designed by Matthew Dent featuring a profile outline, immediately recognisable as Dickens. The portrait is composed of 30 titles, from his first work Sketches by Boz, to his last, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Taken from Dickens’ own favourite story, David Copperfield, the words chosen for the edge inscription are those of the lovable and always optimistic Mr. Micawber: SOMETHING WILL TURN UP.
