Description of obverse and reverse
Obverse: at the top – a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus, in the center - on a background of the symbol of perpetual motion – a wheel of a spinning wheel, the texture of which goes into the structure of annual rings of a tree, stylized images of bear silhouettes and men – the images of Belarusian legends and elements of the Belarus national weaving, at the bottom - the year of issue, fineness; along the rim the inscriptions: at the top - РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ, at the bottom – the face value 20 RUBLEЎ.
Reverse: in the center - a stylized image of a bear, mythological images and symbols of the Belarusian legends. At the bottom - a circular inscription: ЛЕГЕНДА ПРА МЯДЗВЕДЗЯ.
A brief annotation
There is the following Belarusian legend: “Jesus Christ walks the earth from Easter to Ascension. Once he was attacked by a man from ambush to scare him. The man turns into a bear (bear, as a man, carnivorous and herbivorous, can walk on its hind legs) and so far scares people”.
