Description of obverse and reverse
Obverse: in the center there is the emblem of the issuing country - a portrait of Elizabeth II, the inscriptions along the rim: “ELIZABETH II” “COOK ISLANDS” “5 DOLLARS”.
Reverse: on the background of a rural house and a church there is an image of Father Frost and a Snow Maiden in sleigh pulled by three horses, in the upper right corner there is a snow-covered fir branch with two bullfinches, two Christmas balls hang on the branch. In the upper left side of the coin there is the inscription: “С Новым годом!”, at the bottom of the coin there is the year of issue - 2012.
A brief annotation
New Year is the kindest family holiday which has a long history. According to tradition a Christmas tree is set in the house and decorated with balls and figures of animals and people.
