A brief annotation
RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York. As it is commonly known, the Titanic never reached its destination; the collision with the iceberg was one of the most disastrous accidents in the history of seafaring. The RMS Titanic was the largest ship afloat at the time of her maiden voyage; she was the second of three Olympic class ocean liners operated by the White Star Line. Her passengers included some of the wealthiest people in the world, as well as hundreds of emigrants from Great Britain and Ireland, Scandinavia and elsewhere throughout Europe seeking a new life in North America. 2012 was the year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of this great ship. Therefore there has been issued a 1 kg silver coin by the British Virgin Islands. The exclusive coin is finished with color and Night Pearl Black Finish to create the look of night because the Titanic hits the Iceberg at 11:40 PM, only the captain is polished.
