Pegasus is one of the best-known creatures in Greek mythology and a perfect subject for our flagship coin from the British Virgin Islands. Throughout his life, Pegasus remained a mysterious creature that symbolised divine inspiration or the journey to heaven. As a reward for his service and loyalty, Zeus honoured him with special immortaility, turning him into a constellation on the last day of his life. For the first time our Pegasus coin was produced with the lustrous 'Pearl Black' finish - a special technique adopted by Pobjoy Mint.
