A brief annotation
The coin features a beautiful image of Nuestra Señora de Atocha. The Atocha tragically ended her voyage on a reef of the Florida Keys on September 6, 1622, taking with her 264 souls many of whom were of royal blood. She scattered over 47 troy tons of treasure over 50 miles of ocean bottom. There were only 5 people to survive the wreck. At the time of the sinking, the galleon was heavily laden with Copper, Silver, Gold and other precious goods. The coin contains a fragment from one of the Silver bars that sank over 400 years old.
