The reverse of the coin depicts Death as a skeleton about to move the Queen on the chessboard while smiling creepily. The chessboard is minted at the bottom and features some chess pieces, including the White King with the year of issue – 2021 On the coin's left edge is an inscription that reads, "YOU CAN'T CHEAT DEATH".

The obverse presents a dynamic image: Death makes its final move and wins the game, his opponent is furious and smashes the chessboard, tossing all of the chess pieces into the air, including Palau's tilted Coat of Arms. When the coin is tilted, it creates some light effects, thanks to the different finishes used on it: Death’s bones have a glossy print finish, the chess pieces have a matte finish, the chessboard has polished parts contrasting with matte parts.

The coin was inspired by the iconic scene of the chess game with Death from Ingmar Bergman's classic film "The Seven Seals". In the movie, Death states: “No one escapes me”. Power Coin expanded on the concept and reinterpreted it as "You Can't Cheat Death," reminding us that we have no power in the face of Destiny and Death.
