Obverse: In the central part of the coin – coat of arms of the Republic of Cameroon, inscriptions: «Ag 999» (hallmark). «500/FRANCS CFA» (face value), «2020» (year of issue), «m/w» (mint mark). Along the rim – inscription: «REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN» (issuer).

Reverse: In the central part of the rhutenium-plated coin – image of the rat wearing royal cape and crown and holding scepter. Next to it – Chinese sign standing for the Year of the Rat;YEAR OF THE RAT (name of the coin).
