Description of obverse and reverse

Obverse: In the central part of coin – wooden ins ert in the shape of a cross. In each quarter of the coin: Karol WojtyBa as Pope; Karol WojtyBa as a young man; Karol WojtyBa with a child; inscriptions: «REPUBLIQUE/DU CAMEROUN» (issuer), «3000/FRANCS CFA» (face val ue), «Ag 999» (hallmark), «m/w» (mint mark). Dates: 1920 and 2005.

Reverse: In the foreground, the figure of the Pope, in the background, mountains and the Basilica of St. Peter, At the top, the signature "Jan PaweB II", At the bottom, an inscription: 100th anniversary of the birth of Karol Wojtyla (in Polish).

It was created on the initiative of the Mint of Poland by the Polish artists to commemorate a great Pole, patriot, and a man. It is a remarkable opportunity for anyone who wants to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Karol Wojtyła. The coin depicts the symbolic design with the Pope, the landscape of his beloved Tatra Mountains, and the Vatican. Decorations of high relief and the wooden cross-shaped insert make the coin a masterpiece of the minting art and a unique souvenir.
