This design features on the inner core, a “V” for Victory, a flaming torch, maple leaves and the dates “1945” and “2020”. On the outer core, two maple leaves appear as security features. The words “VICTORY” and “VICTOIRE” are framed to the sides with the Morse code; “WE WIN WHEN WE WORK WILLINGLY”. As well as the inscriptions “REMEMBER” and “SOUVENIR”. 

2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the official end of the Second World War. This design features a tribute to Mint Master Engraver Thomas Shingles’ 5-cent coin Victory design, which first circulated in 1943.
