Description of obverse and reverse
On the coin’s reverse, the engraved design by Canadian artist Anna Bucciarelli features a floral wreath of lily, daffodil and tulip blooms mixed with classical acanthus leaves. The patented Dancing Diamond™ mount allows for a Canadian-sourced FIRE AND ICETM diamond to be set within an open square at the centre of the coin, where it catches the light with every movement.

The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
A brief annotation
This coin captures the blooming beauty of spring through some of the most beautiful flowers commonly found in Canada.

The Narcissus (daffodil) is one of the first flowers to bloom every spring. The lily, a flower species that’s associated with the province of Saskatchewan and present on Quebec’s flag.

It was 75 years ago that Ottawa received its first gift of tulips from the Netherlands. The 100,000 bulbs were sent in recognition of Canada’s role in the liberation of the Netherlands, and for sheltering members of the Dutch Royal Family during the Second World War.
