The obverse of the coins in the center depicts a composition that symbolizes the unity of man and the universe, as a connection between the past and the present. On the right side of the coins are inscriptions indicating the denomination of the coins: "500 TENGUE" on a silver coin with tantalum, "200 TENGUE" on a nickel silver alloy coin, "100 TENGUE" on a nickel silver alloy coin. Under the face value on the silver coin with tantalum there is the inscription "Ag 925 14.6 g Ta 26.8 g", indicating the metal from which the coin is made, its sample and weight. In the lower part is the trademark (logo) Kazakhstan Mint. Around the circle are the inscriptions "QAZAQSTAN RESPÝBLIKASY" in the state language and "REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN" in English.
On the reverse of the coins in the center is an image of a Squirrel and an Arrow in a stylized space capsule. In the upper part there is an image of a galaxy of stars, symbolizing open space. Around the circle – the inscriptions "BELKA" and "STRELKA" in Russian, "BELKA" and "STRELKA" in English, as well as the inscription "1960-2020" indicating the anniversary date of the event.
