Description of obverse and reverse

On the reverse of the coin, there are familiar credit cards elements: an imitation of the classic microchip and the 16-digit number. Also on the reverse, rather than a bank logo, we can find the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "NIUE ISLAND", "2020" and "2 DOLLARS". Even on the obverse of the coin, we can find other well- known and common elements with a credit card: the large magnetic strip, a security code and a signature bar for the card holder's signature.

On the top of the obverse, the inscriptions: "70 YEARS OF CREDIT CARD" – the name of the coin and "1950-2020" - the date of the Credit card first apearance and the date of its 70th birthday.

A brief annotation

The first credit-card-like payment method showed up in 1950 when Ralph Schneider and Frank McNamara founded Diners Club and issued its first cards. In 2020 we celebrate the 70th anniversary of this revolutionary invention and Artmint decided to take part by creating an exquisite coin imitating a real life credit card. Within the exact measurements conforming to the ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 it contains every important element – including a magnetic stripe, a real hologram, a chip imitation and it doesn´t lack an area for signature. Each coin is marked by its individual serial number, ensuring its authenticity.
