Description of obverse and reverse
There is a national ornament on the obverse of the coin.
On the reverse of the coin there is a composition of a naturalistic and stenciled image of a wolf’s head with a diamond insert and the inscription “Kokbori” (Көкбөрі). Along the perimeter of the coin there is a wide edging with wolf figures made in the Saka animal style.
A brief annotation
“Kokbori” (celestial wolf) is one of the main totem animals in the representation of Proto-Turks. It is an ancestral spirit, a patron spirit, a supreme deity governing the entire universe. In the beliefs of nomadic peoples, the wolf was considered one of the most significant symbols associated with the sky.
