The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II enhanced with stars and moon and nscriptions «COOK ISLANDS» – the issue country, «5 DOLLARS» - the face value, «ELIZABETH II» - the name of the Queen.

Reverse: detailed colorful photo of a red panda in the middle. A moon at the top. Around it bamboo shoots and a small insert of a red panda in relief.

The idea is to depict endangered night life. The first issue is the red panda. The concept is to make the black proof reflecting the night and the bright color the animal in the night when lid up by moonlight.
