Obverse: in the central part of the coin – effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Below it – initials of the sculptor: «IRB» (Ian Rank-Broadley). Below it – mint mark: m/w, hallmark: Ag 999. Along the rim – inscriptions separated by decorative dots: «ELIZABETH II», «NIUE» (issuer), «1 DOLLAR» (face value), «2017» (year of issue).

The reverse of the coin is decorated with wooden inlay with the effigy of archangel Gabriel (digital printing on wood).

An icon is a representation of the saint, his personification. It mediates in the prayer, ensures communication with an angel or saint – thanks to the icon we feel that the divine person is right next to us. Gabriel is an angel to all three religions. He is one of the most mighty angels of the Kingdom of God in Christianity, Judaism and Islam. “God is my strength” – this is how we translate the name of Gabriel. He is an angel of annunciation, good news, mercy and revelation. As a divine messenger, he played a vital role in the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary and informed Her that she would conceive and become the mother of Jesus.
