The obverse depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coins are issued as legal tender in Cook Islands. The reverse depicts the Guy Fawkes Mask, the most famous symbol of protesting groups and online hacktivists Anonymous, a worldwide known mask. The coin is specially finished on the mask surface, which recreates a very realistic porcelain effect. All this together makes the coin very attractive and unique. In the background of the mask, an expressive pattern. In the bottom of the reverse, the Fawkes’s signature.

This mask appeared many times throughout history, most recently in the film “V for Vendetta”, among groups protesting against politicians, banks and financial institutions, and as symbol of the online hacktivist group Anonymous. The mask was first used by Anonymous in 2008 at the Project Chanology protest – a march on the Church of Scientology. The protest was a response to the church’s attempt to remove internet video clips of an interview with celebrity Scientologist, Tom Cruise. This well known Mask is reproduced perfectly on the coin, with unbelievable high relief and a beautiful porcelain effect. The topic is unique and is used for the first time ever on a legal tender coin.
