Description of obverse and reverse
The obverse side of these silver coins speaks to the purity of this coin with the legend, “1 oz 999 Silver.” There is a cameo of Queen Elizabeth II, and you will also see the badge of Tokelau underneath her. The denomination of the coins indicate that they are legal tender in the Pacific Island of Tokelau.
On the reverse side of the coin, you will see Aries depicted in understated elegance. That is because the mighty ram, the zodiac constellation that represents him and the stars behind can reflect your dreams of opportunity and what the future may hold.
A brief annotation
Aries is the first of the twelve zodiacal constellations and in Greek mythology represents the animal whose fleece was sought by Jason and the Argonauts. In the early ages of man, many events, both natural and supernatural, could be explained only through myth and legends. Cultures invented fabulous stories about deities and incredible creatures that not only awed and inspired those humble beings living on the earth, but also taught important lessons about characteristics that societies valued, such as pride, honour, humility, perseverance and hard work. The constellation Aries, which is shaped like a ram’s head, represents the fleece so ardently sought by Jason and the Argonauts. Only he who possessed the Golden Fleece could be the rightful king of Iolcos in Thessaly. Greek legend tells us that this ram carried the cloud nymph Nephele’s children away from harm.
