A brief annotation
This gold coin weighing 1 ounce and measuring 38.61 millimetres in diameter displays a full colour, naturalistic illustration of an adult Green Sea Turtle. Shown swimming through the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, this bright coloured illustration is complemented by the high relief Coral Sea bed dotted with full colour tropical fish. As beautiful as this turtle is, the message is to tell us that it is an endangered species and must be protected to ensure future generations can enjoy seeing this wonderful reptile.
