Description of obverse and reverse
The obverse: in the centre – the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it – the semicircular inscription “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions, above – the denomination: “ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ” (TWENTY FIVE RUBLES), below: to the left – indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre – the year of issue “2014 г.” (2014), to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark. The reverse: on the mirror field of the disc – the complex of buildings of the State Hermitage in Saint Petersburg in the perspective from above, to the right – the Alexander I Column and the facade of the General Staff Building, above in a round medallion – the portrait of Catherine II, to its left in a ring of vegetable ornament – the monogram of Empress and the inscription in two lines: “ЭРМИТАЖ 250” (HERMITAGE 250), upon periphery of the disc – a vegetable ornament.
