The obverse: in the centre – the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it – the semicircular inscription “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim – on top: “ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ” (TWENTY FIVE RUBLES), below: to the left – indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre – the year of issue “2014 г.” (2014), to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark. The reverse: in the lower part of the disc – the relief portrait of Galileo Galilei at the celestial globe with a telescope in his hand, in the second plan, against a background of blue colored starry sky and the diagram of the Heliocentric System, made by use of techniques of partial gilding and inserting of crystals, – figures of three scholars and the inscription along the rim: “ГАЛИЛЕО ГАЛИЛЕЙ” (GALILEO GALILEI), to the left – the relief image of the Falling Tower of Pisa, to the right – of a celestial body.
