Ing Ing Jong – After completing an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design specialising in multimedia, Ing went on to complete a Bachelor of Multimedia tertiary degree. Ing became part of The Perth Mint design team in 2010, after working for a creative design house in the fields of website design, corporate branding and animation for three years.

Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, bordered by the inscriptions ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA 2014, and the monetary denomination. The coin’s reverse portrays a struck representation of a Saltwater Crocodile against a colourful background of wild wetlands at sunset. The inscription SALTWATER CROCODILE also appears in the design with The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the 2014 year-date, and the weight and fineness of the coin.

An isolated and remote island in the Southern Hemisphere, Australia is renowned for some of the world’s most unique wildlife and natural landscapes. To celebrate the animal icons of the continent, The Perth Mint has combined the shape of its home country, with the remarkable fauna which inhabit its stunning natural environments, to create this collector coin. The detail of the Saltwater Crocodile is highlighted by the animal being classically struck against a coloured scene, presented on a coin crafted in the shape of Australia.
