The obverse portrays the likeness of His Majesty King Juan Carlos. The reverse exhibits, as the main motif, a rendering of three fleur de lys shapes. On the lower part of the coin, at left, is a further fleur de lys atop the number 75. A beaded edge delimits the motifs and texts.

January 5th 2013 marked the 75th birthday of His Majesty the King, who was born in Rome where the royal family was living at the time. Subsequent to the release of the 30-euro silver coin featuring the four-way latent image, which makes it such a special item, the Spanish Royal Mint is launching a collector coin set in proof quality showing different motifs and with the added interest of two of the coins being made to fit inside two others.
