Description of obverse and reverse
The obverse shows a bust of His Majesty King Juan Carlos, against a background representation of the Flag of Spain, on which the royal crown is pictured at upper left.
The reverse reproduces an allegory of Spain embracing the Constitution, founded on a composition by the sculptor Ponciano Ponzano that embellishes the pediment of the Chamber of Deputies building. The lower part of the coin shows the Collar of the Most Illustrious Order of the Golden Fleece.
A brief annotation
January 5th 2013 marked the 75th birthday of His Majesty the King Juan Carlos. Subsequent to the release of the 30-euro silver coin featuring the four-way latent image, which makes it such a special item, the Spanish Royal Mint is launching a collector coin set in proof quality showing different motifs and with the added interest of two of the coins being made to fit inside two others.
