On the obverse of the silver coins, a stylised cyclist is shown wearing his coloured jersey. The cyclist is depicted arriving at the Arc de Triomphe, the arriving line at the end of the competition. The reverse is common to all the coins in this series and features the Tour de France logo with the inscription «100e edition». Corsica and the Arc de Triomphe represent the starting line and the finish line of the 2013 race.

Monnaie de Paris celebrates one of the largest sporting competitions in the world with the 100th edition of the Tour de France in 2013. Broadcasted on more than 100 TV channels in more than 190 countries, this legendary race is contested by 22 teams of 9 riders who cover some 3 000 kilometers within three weeks. The 2013 race will start in Corsica, the only region of Metropolitan France that it has never yet visited. Monnaie de Paris celebrates this 100th edition with 8 exceptional coins: 4 gold coins of different face value honor the event itself and 4 silver ?10 coins, each having a different color: the yellow jersey - leader of the general classification; the red spotted jersey, leading climber; the green jersey, leader on points; and the white jersey, best young cyclist on the Tour.
