Description of obverse and reverse
The obverse: the image of the national shrine of the Lao People's Democratic Republic – Golden stupa.
The reverse: the image of a sprawling tree with its leaves, branches and trunk made of green enamel. Under the tree there are gold coins fallen down from it. Under the tree – the inscription «Талисман удачи» (Good luck charm), around it along the circle – the inscription «Денежное дерево» (Money Tree).
A brief annotation
There is an old Chinese legend about a money tree with golden coins on branches. When you shake the tree, the coins fall down into your garden like raindrops. The rain of coins is one of the favorite themes in art and among the people who believe in power of ancient symbols.
