Description of obverse and reverse
On the reverse, two curves running from left to right of the coin represent the path of a ball pitched during a game. The foreground depicts a football player celebrating the scoring of a goal. The mintmark can be seen to his right, and further right is featured the football itself and the coin face value. Above this, the wording CAMPEONES DE EUROPA reads from the upper right of the coin in a descending curve.
The obverses of the coins bears a likeness of H.M. King Juan Carlos I.
A brief annotation
1st July 2012 Spain’s soccer team was proclaimed shining European Champion in the UEFA Euro 2012 held in Poland and Ukraine. This triumph together with the previous Euro 2008 and 2010 World Cup makes the Spanish national team the only one in history to win three major tournaments consecutively.
