Description of obverse and reverse
This is the first coin in the world to have a QUADRUPLE LATENT IMAGE. The reverse depicts four circles arranged in the shape of a cross. Depending on the angle at which they are viewed, the circles will reveal either a crowned M, the Roman numeral  X, the Euro symbol, or a star. In the center of the four circles is a rendering of the map of Europa. The obverse reproduces the overlapping effigies of Their Majesties King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia.
A brief annotation
The year 2012 marked the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Euro. Euro coins and banknotes were released into circulation in 12 European countries on January 1, 2002. A further 5 countries were subsequently incorporated into the Euro Zone. About 330 million people have the Euro as their only currency.
