Description of obverse and reverse
The obverse features the Assignation Bank building in St. Petersburg, founded by Catherine the Great to issue paper money, as well as indicates the country of issue, denomination and year of issue.
The reverse displays the Russian Empress Catherine the Great and a coin of her reign era - two golden rubles of 1785 for the court use. On the background there is a fragment of the inscription taken from a 25-ruble banknote of the Catherine's time.
