A brief annotation
Sayat-Nova (1712-1795) is a prominent Armenian poet and bard with charming voice. Around 200 songs by Sayat-Nova have been preserved with love as the prevailing theme there. He also wrote songs with exhortation touch.
As a musician, he sang while playing qamancha, an old string instrument. He was considered a king of bards in Transcaucasia and Iran. The image of Sayat-Nova is portrayed in numerous literary works, music, theater and cinematography.
