Description of obverse and reverse
Averse: the face value of the coin "500 tenge "; the trademark of Kazakhstan Mint; "Ag 925 24 gr." means metal, standard of coinage and weight; in the centre, on the mirror surface - the image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan in a frame of the «sealing wax press»; the name of the issuing bank in Kazakh and English; stylized image of stone surface and petroglyphs of the archaeological landscape of Tamgaly; "2012" means the year of coinage Reverse: the image of «Solar deity» with a flower sprouted through a crack in a stone; the name of the coin in Kazakh and English. Inscriptions are divided by dots. On the coin without pad printing there is a gilded image of a flower.
A brief annotation
Petroglyphs of the Archaeological Landscape of Tamgaly - one of the oldest and most striking sights of Rock Art of Semirechye mountain area, since 2004 they are the UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the end of the 1950s a sanctuary with a plenty of rock paintings was found here and its investigation began in the 1970s and 1980s. Tamgaly is located 170 km north-west of the city of Almaty in the mountains of Anrakay. The coin minted with pad printing is issued under the International Program of production and sale of collectible coins from precious metals of the Eurasian Economic Community.
