Description of obverse and reverse
A magpie, China’s “Bird of Happiness,” hovers joyfully above a vivid tapestry of lotus blooms—a symbol of prolonged luck, success, and happiness. At the centre of this charming image lies a selective hologram of a maple leaf. Embossed at the bottom of the reverse design is the word “Canada” as well as the face value of “15 Dollars” and the year “2011.”
The obverse design by Susanna Blunt features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
