Description of obverse and reverse
On the obverse appears a contemporary reinterpretation of Hercules by the engraver Joaquin Jimenez.
On the reverse, the face value is featured in the center, surrounded by two branches – one oak and the other laurel – evoking the Euro symbol. The inscription “Liberté Egalité Fraternité” appears around the edge of the coin and the entire design is framed by a representation of the country’s hexagonal shape.
A brief annotation
With the success of the Gold and Silver Euros series and in light expectations of numismatists in this regard, Monnaie de Paris decided to strike a silver premium coin: a 100? silver coin.
