Description of obverse and reverse
Obverse: The face value (2 New Sheqalim), the Israel State Emblem with the seven-branched candelabrum, "Israel" in English, Hebrew and Arabic. Below, in the center, the Hebrew letter "Mem" Mintmark. Above to the right, the biblical verse "Elijah went up by a whirlwind into Heaven" in stylized Hebrew letters resembling flames within the whirlwind.
Reverse: A dramatic rendering of Elijah the Prophet being taken up to Heaven in a chariot of fire, drawn by horses of fire. Below, to the left, Elisha the Prophet, who was to take over the role of Elijah his master, sees Elijah being taken away from him and refuses to part with him.

This is one of the most famous scenes described in the Bible which has been the most inspirational Book for humanity since ancient times and still remains as such, today.
