Description of obverse and reverse
Obverse: on the coin obverse there are the small coat of arms of Ukraine and the semicircular legend: “НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ” (National Bank of Ukraine) above; the coin issue year “2010” and the face value “20 ГРИВЕНЬ” (20 Hryvnias) below; the central part of the miracle-working icon within its revetment supported by angels. Under
the icon there is the conventionalized inscription “ЗИМНЕНСЬКА ІКОНА ПРЕСВ. БОГОРОДИЦІ” (Zymne icon of the Blessed Mother of God).
Reverse: there are cloister buildings located on a hill; above there is the semicircular conventionalized inscription “ЗИМНЕНСЬКИЙ СВЯТОГІРСЬКИЙ УСПЕНСЬКИЙ МОНАСТИР” (Zymne Holy-Mountain Dormition Cloister). Below, against the landscape background – the legend “СЕЛО ЗИМНЕ, ВОЛИНЬ” (village of Zymne, Volhynia).
A brief annotation
The coin is dedicated to the Zymne Holy Mountain Cloister of the Dormition, founded in the Kyiv Rus epoch, whose main erection is the Dormition Cathedral (1495).
